Federal Investigators have launched an investigation into the North Carolina Coal Ash spill where tens of thousands of tons of coal ash were dumped into the Dan River.
Additionally, Kevin Eichinger, one of two EPA Federal On-Scene Coordinators leading the emergency management response confirmed that he has asked the Criminal Investigative Unit of the Environmental Protection Agency to initiate an investigation.
