In Memory of Laurie Moran
In June of 2017, Danville and Pittsylvania County lost one of their biggest advocates for a strong community. Laurie Moran spent her life giving back to the community she loved. Laurie was the definition of “community strong.”
Laurie held the position of President of the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce from January 2002 until the time of her passing. Her passion for building a stronger community was seen through her work with many organizations including the Danville Regional Foundation, Smart Beginnings of Danville Pittsylvania County, the United Way of Pittsylvania County, and The Launch Place. She gave her time, knowledge, and energy to the community.
Even if you took her job out of the equation, Laurie was just an amazing human being, who gave her all to lift up everyone around her. She always had that great smile on her face. She was truly a beacon of light for this community.
Laurie made our community a better place. We continue to miss her.
