Victim named in Caswell murder-suicide

(Anderson, N.C.) — There’s new information on the victims and the gunman in a weekend murder-suicide in Caswell County.

Investigators say 37-year old Danielle Hines (pictured) and one of her children were shot and killed Saturday evening at their home on Cherry Grove Road in the Anderson Community.

Two of Hines’ other children were also shot, but they’re expected to make a full recovery.

Hines was a Caswell County Correctional Center officer who was hired a little over three years ago.

Investigators think 37-year old Anthony Lamont Siler was the gunman. He reportedly drove from the scene into Alamance County. Deputies stopped his car on Rauhut Street and ordered him to get out of the car. Deputies said Siler then shot himself inside the car.  He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Investigators do not believe the incident was random, but there’s been no public speculation on a motive.
