Habitat for Humanity names new local leader

(Danville) — The local chapter of Habitat for Humanity has a new leader. Krystal Davis (pictured) will begin work as Executive Director next Monday.

Davis is a Danville native and the granddaughter of former Danville City Councilman Raymond Haley who owned Haley’s TV on Westover Drive. Davis was crowned Little Miss Danville in 1984.

Most recently Davis served as the Business Manager with the state Department of Health. She is a graduate of Averett University with both a Bachelor of Applied Science in leadership and an MBA with a concentration in marketing.

Davis has already been instrumental in Habitat’s England Trail project which is ready to enter phase two.

They are also developing the Northside Village at the corner of Springfield Drive and Seminole Road in North Danville.  Plans have been in the works for nearly a decade. St. Luke’s United Methodist Church donated six acres of land to Habitat in 2015.

Habitat will partner with 30 families, building their houses from scratch while giving the owners a safe and secure community where they can focus on work, school, and wellbeing.
