(Axton) — A registered sex offender is facing fresh charges in Pittsylvania County.
On Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office got a complaint from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. On Wednesday, they arrested 55-year-old Michael Andrew McLeese, a registered sex offender who lives in Axton.
He’s charged with use of communication devices to facilitate offenses involving children, and violating his probation.
According to the Virginia Sex Offender Registry, McLeese was convicted in Fairfax County in 2019 on one count of taking indecent liberties with children and one count of using a computer to solicit sex from a minor between the ages of seven and fifteen. He has been on the state sex offender registry for five years.
McLeese is being held in the Pittsylvania County Jail under no bond.
