Caesars numbers slump slightly

(Danville) — Activity dipped slightly last month at Danville’s temporary casino.

The Virginia Lottery Monday released June figures for casino activity in Virginia. Caesars Virginia reports $19,216,180.60 in revenue during the month.  That’s down over a million dollars from May.  Similar declines were reported at Virginia’s other casinos in Bristol and Portsmouth.

Caesars Virginia reported a slight drop in activity during the month of June at their 804 slot machines and their 36 table games in Danville.

Caesars has now taken in over 240 million dollars since they opened last year.

June taxes on Caesars revenues came in at just under three-and-a-half million dollars. Over a million of that goes directly to the City of Danville. The city has now collected over 14 million dollars in gaming-tax revenue from the casino. The city also gets reimbursement as part of a citing agreement.

The permanent Caesars Virginia Casino & Resort is set to open later this year.
