Suspects arrested in Danville carjacking

    (Danville) — Danville Police this weekend arrested two suspects in a recent carjacking.  

    It happened July 18th in the parking lot of Pizza Hut on Riverside Drive. A 42-year-old women says she was robbed at gunpoint while sitting in the parking lot waiting on her food.  The gunman drove off in her car eastbound on Riverside Drive. 

    A short time later officers saw the vehicle on South Main Street. The driver accelerated and crashed near the intersection of Lockett Drive while turning off South Main. He ran off into a wooded area. 

    This weekend, authorities arrested 19-year old Jayvian Amari Davis. He’s charged with carjacking, armed robbery, and two weapons counts. He was arrested in Kannapolis, North Carolina with help from the United States Marshal Service and local law authorities. He’s being held under a $1 million bond, pending extradition. 

    Later, Danville Police arrested 21-year old Phayzaun Shacore Edmonds for conspiracy to commit carjacking. He is being held in the Danville City Jail without bond.
