(Danville) — The local community chest is welcoming four new members to their Board of Directors.
Becky Yeatts, Helm Dobbins, Elizabeth Hurt, and Jerry Williams are beginning new terms on the panel. Steve Bass, who has served on the board for the past five years, will serve as the new President.
The Community Foundation is a public charity established in 1996. They offer a range of charitable funds. Donors can advance a cause in areas like human services, education and youth, and community development. They can provide support to a specific organization, to a field of interest, or to unspecified community needs.
Earlier this year, the Foundation awarded 160 scholarships to 147 local students. They added up to over 341-thousand dollars. The money was paid out from 67 separate scholarship funds managed by the Foundation.
