God’s Pit Crew to host emergency Blessing Bucket assembly

(Danville) — They delivered tons of relief throughout the southeast the week after a major hurricane.  Now, God’s Pit Crew needs to restock, and they need to do it quickly.

The Crew will host an emergency Blessing Bucket packing event Thursday to send more critical relief items to areas impacted by Hurricane Helene.  Thousands of Blessing Buckets filled with bottled water, food items, hygiene items, first aid kits, cleaning supplies, Bibles have already been sent to Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

In at least one case, a Crew spokesman says they literally floated buckets down a river to get to families who have been cut off for days in the North Carolina mountains.

The crew hopes to fill over 2,000 Blessing Buckets Thursday.  The pallets will be loaded directly onto semis pulling out the following day.

The Crew has stretched themselves thin helping in the wake of Hurricane Helene.  They were close to home a week ago Friday, cutting trees in Dry Fork after an EF-2 tornado touched down and destroyed over thirty structures.

Volunteers were onsite last Monday in Valdosta, Georgia and Galax, Virginia. The Crew also worked with Hope Church Danville with sending a truckload of Blessing Buckets and bottled water to Marion-North Carolina. They’ve also sent truckloads of supplies to four communities in Florida.

Over the weekend, the Crew shipped out pallets of cleaning supplies and Blessing Buckets filled with food, water, first aid kits, Bibles, and more to Newport-Tennessee.  They’re planning to send more volunteer crews to deploy around Asheville, North Carolina as soon as possible.
