Boil Water Advisory lifted

(Brosville) — Folks out 58 West can stop boiling their water.  Pittsylvania County Public Works Sunday lifted the Boil Water Advisory they issued on Friday.

This follows clear rounds of testing and consultation with the state Department of Health’s Office of Drinking Water.

The Advisory was issued because of a broken water main near the intersection of Westover Drive and Route 58 West, just east of the end of Lemon Lane. The advisory was precautionary in nature but needed because of the water line repairs that had to be made.

Crews collected two water samples, twenty-four hours apart, from a location in the affected service area. They were tested for the presence of bacteria and found to be safe to drink.
