Danville firefighters make two trips to one home

(Danville) — Danville Firefighters had to make a couple of trips over the weekend to a house that caught fire. And it wasn’t their first trip there.

The first call came Friday at 5:44 PM, from 181 Kimberly Avenue off of West Main Street. The first crews found a house with heavy fire and smoke showing. Because of the size of the fire crews were unable to get inside the house until most of the fire was knocked down from the outside.

Crews quickly transitioned to an interior attack and began their search operations. They had the fire under control in about 20 minutes. There was heavy smoke and fire damage throughout the house. No one was hurt.  The Fire Marshal began their investigation.

The next morning just after two AM, crews were called back to the house after some hot spots ignited in the rear of the home’s remains.  They had that fire under control in thirty minutes.

Back in February there was another fire at the same house.  It broke out on a Sunday afternoon.  Units saw heavy smoke coming from the single story house. They were able to quickly douse the blaze. The house suffered moderate fire and heavy smoke damage. The Red Cross helped a resident who was displaced by that fire.
