(Danville) — A pedestrian was struck and killed on Piney Forest Road Thursday evening.
A spokesperson with the Danville Police Department says it happened in the 1000 block of Piney Forest Road just before 5:40 p.m. Thursday. Investigators say a 2014 GMC truck driven by a 36-year-old man hit 71-year old Roman Gregory Fedorciw of Danville.
Police say Fedorciw was in the roadway when he was hit. He was transported from the scene and later pronounced dead. Police say there may be delays along that section of Piney Forest Road as the investigation continues.
No charges have been filed.
This marks the area’s third fatal accident in under a week. Two people were killed last weekend in separate accidents in Pittsylvania County.
