ATDM graduates 14th cohort

(Danville) — A new training program continues to churn out job-ready graduates at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research.

The Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing program this weekend graduated 71 students in the program’s 14th cohort. This program prepares students for manufacturing careers that directly support the defense and submarine industries.

The ATDM is an intensive, 16-week training initiative to equip students with the skills needed to work in industries that make crucial parts and equipment for the U.S. military.

This cohort brings the total number of ATDM graduates to 779 since the program launched in 2021.

The Navy’s National Training Center is currently under construction in the Cyber Park and should be ready next year. Once it’s open, classes will be held in three shifts, ‘round the clock. Up to a thousand students are projected to graduate each year starting in 2025.
