(Richmond) — Four Pittsylvania County football stars are getting state-wide recognition. They were named Monday to the Virginia High School League’s All-State team for Division Two high schools.
Chatham senior Jack Reece was named second-team as an offensive lineman. He’s signed a letter of intent to play football next year at the University of Richmond. Reece is a 6-2, 285-pound senior.
Also on the second-team offense is Gretna Wide Receiver Jay Giggetts. He led the Hawks in receiving yards this fall.
Two Gretna teammates made second-team all-state on the defensive side of the ball. They were Xavier Waller and sophomore Raneer Jones.
Gretna advanced to the Regional Title game this fall, losing to Glenvar. They also won the annual Adams Cup as the best team in Pittsylvania County.
