(Danville) — A Danville grand jury has indicted two suspects on multiple child pornography charges.
Danville Police got a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force last December. They launched a probe and charged 18-year old James Michael Andrew Richardson with possession of child pornography.
A separate tip three weeks later led to another investigation. After that prove, police arrested 28-year old Dylan Thomas Hardy and charged him with possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child porn.
Police say the images uncovered in the investigations were digital, and there is no indication there was any physical contact or involvement with local children.
Danville Commonwealth’s Attorney Michael Newman says each was indicted on one count first offense possession. That is class 6 felony, punishable by 1-to-5 years in prison. Each is also indicted on one count of second or subsequent offense possession. That is a class 5 felony with a possible sentence of up ten year behind bars.
Both are scheduled in Danville Circuit Court to make a plea June 17th.
