(Riceville) — The group installing broadband fiber in Pittsylvania County wants to get the word out, now that a portion of the network is ready for prime time.
RiverStreet Networks is hosting another Meet and Greet for folks interested in learning more about the high-speed internet service they’re offering. They’ll be set up at the Riceville-Java Fire Station Thursday afternoon from three to six.
RiverStreet has over 3,600 locations hooked up to their high-speed network. They’ve added nearly a thousand over the past month. Nearly two-thousand locations are under construction.
At last count, RiverStreet had 384 customers signed up for service, with many more in the queue.
Folks can go to the RiverStreet website to see if their home is part of the project area and eligible for activation. The $81 million project will bring high-speed internet to over 16,000 homes and businesses.
