(Danville) — A new developer wants to build a small hotel and a restaurant right next to the casino.
A group called Schoolfield LLC is asking the city to rezone 916 West Main Street. That 2.8 acre tract houses the old canteen building once used by Dan River’s Schoolfield Division.
Developers will need it rezoned from Industrial Manufacturing to Highway Retail Commercial. They’re also asking for an identical rezoning for four acres at 1076 West Main to make way for a boutique hotel with 36 rooms.
The Danville Planning Commission will get more information on Monday before they make a recommendation to City Council.
