(Danville) — Developers are one step closer to building a large housing development in Danville’s west end.
Blackstone Building Group is asking for a Special Use Permit for a Planned Unit Development at the corner of Riverside Drive and Vandola Road. The proposed Vandola Crescent development will feature 360 two-and-three story town and patio homes.
46 townhomes will use Vandola Road. The development will stretch from the intersection of Kayewood Lane and Riverside to the intersection of Kayewood and Westover. Planners have a list of ten conditions for developers.
Blackstone estimates a taxable impact to the City up to 120 million dollars and over 720-thousand dollars in water and sewer tap fees. Blackstone will also commit three-and-a-half million dollars for interest rate buydowns and down payment assistance to help those who need workforce housing.
The Danville Planning Commission voted unanimously Monday to recommend City Council approve the permit. Council will vote next month.
