(Amherst County) — Fifth District Democrats settled on a nominee in a much lower-profile race.
Gloria Tinsley Witt of Amherst County won a three-way primary to clinch the Democratic nomination for November’s election. She got nearly sixty percent of the vote to easily outpoll the other hopefuls—Gary Terry of Danville and Paul Riley of Hanover County.
On her campaign webpage, Witt calls herself, “An executive coach and community advocate that thrives on building relationships to achieve results.”
Witt will try and become the first Democrat to win the district since Tom Perriello in 2008.
