(Richmond) — A retired local educator is getting a key leadership role from the Governor.
Glenn Youngkin this weekend appointed former Danville Community College President Doctor Carlyle Ramsey to the State Council Of Higher Education For Virginia.
Ramsey was DCC’s President for more than 20 years before retiring in 2013. During his tenure the school secured money to build the Regional Center for Advanced Training and Technology in Danville’s Cyber Park. That has helped bring new industry to the region. Also on Ramsey’s watch, DCC doubled the size of their advanced manufacturing offerings.
The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia is the state’s coordinating agency for higher education.
