(Taylorsville, N.C.) — A Danville man is in custody in North Carolina on robbery charges.
Authorities in Alexander County this weekend arrested 21-year old Demarcus Denell Broadnax of Danville. He’s charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a controlled substance. The charges date back to 2021.
Broadnax was also served warrants in connection with a double-shooting north of Taylorsville-North Carolina. Broadnax was one of two men shot in what then-Sheriff Chris Bowman called a drug deal gone bad.
A search of the home turned up 350 pounds of vacuum-sealed packages containing marijuana and various related items. The street value of the was placed at $525,000. They also found nearly a quarter-million dollars in cash.
Broadnax is being held under a $200,000 secured bond.
