(Danville) — Danville police have made another arrest in a drive-by shooting that happened two years ago.
23-year old Jaiden Daniel Franklin is charged with two counts of felonious assault, two counts of shooting from a vehicles and two weapons counts.
It happened August 15, 2022 in the 100 block of North Avenue. Witnesses say someone in a gold SUV opened fire as they drove past a group of people. One man in the group fired back at the SUV as it turned on to North Avenue.
About an hour later, police got a call of shots fired in the 2100 block of Riverside Drive. Investigators say the same SUV as the North Avenue incident was involved. No one was hurt in that incident.
A 2022 GMC Terrain was identified as the suspect vehicle. It was later recovered in Pittsylvania County after being found burned.
A second suspect, Xzavion Smith, was arrested the following day for attempted malicious wounding, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
There’s no word on when Franklin will make his next court appearance.
