(Danville) — There will be two new members sworn in next year to the Danville School Board.
Danville voters Tuesday returned two incumbents to the panel, along with two newcomers. School Board Vice-Chairman Tyrell Payne was the top vote-getter. He ended up with over 78-hundred votes.
Finishing second was incumbent Keisha Walker. She won a special election for former member Renee Hughes’ seat two years ago. This will be her first full term on the School Board.
Coming in Third was newcomer Kacey Cunningham. She’s a local business owner running for elected office for the first time.
The other new Board member will be Corey Williams. It was also his first run for public office.
Charles McWilliams was the lone incumbent to lose out in his bid for a second term on the School Board.
