(Ringgold) — A South Boston man was shot and killed in Ringgold, and Pittsylvania County investigators are looking for answers.
It happened November fifth. Deputies were called at around 7am to an apartment on Old Quarry Road in Ringgold for a reported shooting. They found a man suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
26-year old Tauron Brown of South Boston was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Pittsylvania County’s Commonwealth’s Attorney is helping investigators. They consider this an isolated incident and that there is no further threat to the community.
Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Captain Gerald Ford reports a suspect has been identified and was detained at the time of the incident—charges are pending further investigation.
