(Danville) — Activity slipped a bit last month at the local casino. The state lottery this weekend released October revenues for the state’s three casinos.
It shows Caesars Virginia took in around 18-and-a-quarter (m) million dollars for the month. That’s over two million dollars less than September. But it’s about one-and-a-half million above the same month a year ago.
Revenues from their 36 table games was steady from a month ago. The overall loss came from a two-point-two million dollar drop in revenues at their 826 slot machines.
Activity was also down at the temporary Hard Rock Casino in Bristol but up slightly at the permanent River City Portsmouth.
Caesars has now taken in over 320 million dollars since they opened last year. October taxes on Caesars was nearly three-point-two million dollars. One-point-one million of that goes directly to the City of Danville. The city has now collected over 18 million dollars in gaming-tax revenue from the casino. The city also gets reimbursement as part of a citing agreement.
The permanent Caesars Virginia Casino and Resort will be opened December 12th.
