(Yanceyville, N.C.) — A Ringgold man is charged with killing a Danville man last year at a Caswell County nightclub.
Caswell County authorities this weekend arrested 34 year old Joshua Lashawn Johnson (pictured). He’s charged with First-degree murder in the shooting last December at the NV Lounge.
Caswell County EMS and Deputies worked crowd control while first responders treated a gunshot victim in the parking lot. 26-year-old Joshua White, of Danville, was later pronounced dead.
Johnson is being held without bond in the Caswell County Adult Detention Center, with a Wednesday arraignment scheduled in Caswell Superior Court. Caswell deputies have worked with the Danville Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police in the investigation.
Earlier this year, a Caswell County Judge signed a temporary restraining order for a Nuisance Abatement against the N.V. Lounge—a small, private nightclub on Nunnally Road in Pelham. Caswell County Sheriff Tony Durden says the nightclub has been a hotspot for criminal activity, draining their resources, negatively impacting the community and fostering criminal behavior.
North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement officers say the was operating as an “adult entertainment club.” They seized ten guns in a raid, one of which had been stolen. Several people were charged with multiple counts. Durden says there were also controlled substance violations and alcohol violations.
