FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
At approximately 11:10 a.m. today, an individual forcibly entered the offices of Showcase Magazine and attacked our colleague, Lee Vogler, by dousing him with gasoline and setting him on fire. Lee is currently serving as a Danville City Councilman and is the Director of Sales at Showcase Magazine.
During the attack, Lee identified the assailant as “Shotsy Buck.” At this time, we have not confirmed whether this is the individual’s legal name or a nickname. The suspect is currently in police custody.
Lee sustained serious burn injuries and was transported to the Lynchburg burn center for treatment. His condition has not yet been released.
We are deeply shocked and saddened by this act of violence. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lee and his family as he receives medical care. The Showcase Magazine team is fully cooperating with law enforcement as they continue their investigation.
