(Danville) — The Danville School System has a budget. City Council Tuesday unanimously signed off on the school system’s 24-25 spending blueprint.
The nearly 102 million dollar budget is six-and-a-half million dollars more than the current one. They’re getting a two-and-a-half million dollar increase in local funding.
The budget continues all current initiatives and includes funding for positions funded with ESSER funds that ran out last year. Those include security staff at elementary schools and bus monitors.
The budget includes extra money to expand the schools’ Early College partnerships with Danville Community College. It also factors in an 11% increase in health insurance costs for staff.
