(Wise, VA) — Local developers are getting more time from the Tobacco Commission for an improvement effort at the Berry Hill Megapark.
The local Regional Industrial Facilities Authority asked for a 14-month extension on a grant that will help finish Water System Improvements at the Southern Virginia Megasite at Berry Hill.
The Commission approved a two-point-two million dollar grant in 2015 to help build water infrastructure from the North Caroline line to the park. The project will also extend the 20” water main from Berry Hill Road to a new Oak Hill pumping station and water tank. The project is expected to take around a year.
The Tobacco Commission last week agreed to a 14-month extension for the grant.
