(Blairs) — Two people were hurt this weekend in a house fire just north of Danville.
Captain Stephen Barts with Blairs Fire and Rescue they got a report of a dryer fire at a home in the 900 block of Pritchett Lane Saturday afternoon.
The first units found a single-family home with smoke and flames coming from the basement, first floor and attic. They used two attack lines to douse the blaze.
The two occupants were able to get out before crews arrived, but both were hurt in the process. One had minor injuries treated at a local hospital—but the other was airlifted to a facility with more serious injuries. At last report, the victim was listed in serious but stable condition.
Crews spent about two hours at the scene. Blairs got help from Mt. Hermon, Ringgold, Keeling, Kentuck Dry Fork and Laurel Grove, along with Pittsylvania County Public Safety.
