(Chatham) — A Pittsylvania County man arrested for killing his son and daughter-in-law earlier this month will remain behind bars for the time being.
A Chatham judge has denied bond for 65-year-old William Lester Roberts. He is charged with two counts of second-degree murder and three weapons charges in the June 25 shooting deaths of 41-year-old William Jason Roberts of Roanoke, and 39-year-old Ashley Marie Roberts of Roanoke.
The shooting happened at the defendant’s home on River Ridge Road in Axton. The two victims’ bodies were found just outside the house’s entrance.
The judge set a preliminary hearing for August 29th.
