(Richmond) — Some local names are on a new list of the state’s most powerful and influential leaders.
Virginia Business this weekend published their annual “Power 500” list.
New to the list is Chris Albrecht, CEO of Caesars Virginia Casino and Resort in Danville. The facility is expected to open late this year with between 900 and 1,300 workers, down from the previously announced 1,300. Albrecht has been with Caesars Entertainment for 19 years, including two years in his current post.
Pittsylvania County native Todd Haymore was named to the list under the Economic Development heading. He’s a former state commerce secretary and secretary of agriculture who served under two governors from two different parties. Haymore now advises corporations interested in expanding or moving to Virginia.
The Power 500 list also includes Danville’s former Economic Development Director. Telly Tucker served in that post for five years before leaving in 2020 to become economic development director in Arlington County. He’s now back in the area, serving as President of the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research in Danville.
Four Henry County business leaders also made the list. It include Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell, Bassett CEO Robert Spillman, Hooker Furniture CEO Jeremy Hoff, and John Parkinson who heads up Drake Extrusion in Ridgeway.
