(Danville) — Local leaders have signed off on a lease agreement with a UK company that’s coming to the area.
The Danville Industrial Development Authority this week signed on to a lease covering a ten-acre lot in the Cane Creek Centre. That’s where RBW Sports & Classics will invest $8 million to open a manufacturing facility. The Cane Creek Centre is an industrial park jointly owned by Danville and Pittsylvania County.
RBW plans to create 144 new jobs with average annual wages of over 53-thousand dollars. The local factory will produce hand-built electric classic sports cars.
Earlier this year, Governor Glenn Youngkin approved a $500,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to help Danville-Pittsylvania County land the project.
The IDA this week also signed off on nearly one-point-four million dollars in upfit for the building. It’s the former home of U.S. Green Energy.
