(Danville) — A grant that allowed Danville to add a couple of school resource officers is being renewed.
The Department of Criminal Justice Services will send the city over 88-thousand dollars through the School Resource Officer Grant Program. It requires a local match of less than thirty-thousand dollars.
This is a continuation of a grant that provided for the hiring of two School Resource Officers, one for George Washington High School and one for Westwood Middle School.
Danville City Council adopted a budget amendment this week to accept the grant money.
