(Chatham) — Pittsylvania County’s Treasurer will take on some new duties as the county looks for a new Administrator.
The Board of Supervisors Tuesday named Vincent Shorter as interim county administrator for the next six months while they search for a permanent replacement.
Two months ago, former County Administrator Stuart Turille submitted his resignation to the Board, just a year after he was hired.
Supervisors voted 5-2 to name Shorter interim administrator effective July first. Supervisors Tim Dudley and Ken Bowman dissented.
Shorter was elected County Treasurer in 2016. Turille has since taken a post as City Manager in Southport-North Carolina.
